WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND POLICIES

WITHDRAWAL POLICY

Students may withdraw from their course of study any time prior to, or during the enrollment period. To withdraw a student must complete, sign, date, and mail via Certified Mail ACL's Request for Withdrawal Forms. Said Form must be used to officially withdraw. Other written Format will not be considered an Official Withdrawal. it is to be addressed to the Dean of Students, American College of Law, 3745 West Chapman Avenue, Suite 250, Orange, California 92868.

RIGHT TO CANCEL

The student has the right to cancel their enrollnent to the college and to obtain a refund. The student has the right to a full refund of all tuition charges prior to the first day of class less the administrative fee.

REFUND POLICY

Students who withdraw on or before the fifth (5th) day of class will be "Refunded all tuition, less the non-refundable administrative fees. After the fifth (5th) day of class, but before midterm exams, tuition earned by the school will be calculated on a prorata basis.

ENROLLMENT PERIOD

A definition of the enrollment period at American College of Law is that each semester or session is a separate enrollment/contract for the student and the total of all the enrollment agreements/ contracts equal the total courses and units necessary to meet the degree requirements that the student needs if the student follows his/her prescribed study plan.

REFUND EXPLANATION:

You deduct the nonrefundable fees from the total tuition charge on the enrollment agreement. You divide this figure by the total hours of the enrollment period, this quotient is the hourly program charge. In order to get the amount of tuition owed to ACL from the student you multiply this hourly rate by the hours the student attended the program.

REFUND EXAMPLE

If the enrollment agreement is for 9 units the agreement will equal 135 clock hours. If the student withdraws and has only completed 30 hours of the 135 hours of the agreement, the student has 105 remaining hours on this agreement and it is considered a pro-rate refund. Here is how the calculation of this student's refund would work:

Total Tuition and Fees

$2,990.00

Minus non - refundable fees

$65.00

Total Tuition

$2,925.00

In order to get to the refund amount (if any) you now take the $2,925.00 and divide this amount by the 135 hours the student enrolled to attend on this agreement. This amount which is $22.00 is the per hour charge, you must now multiply this figure of $22.00 by the 30 hours that the student attended on this agreement. This is the amount the student owes the college for their attendance. The amount in this example is $660.00, if the student had only paid the college $445.00 on this enrollment agreement they owe the college $215.00, but if the student had paid the $2,925.00, their refund would be $2,265.00

REFUND OF TUITION

Refunds are processed only upon written notice discontinuance and application for a withdrawal and refund process has been processed. The refund amount are calculated by using the refund formula above and they take approximately 30 days to process as in accordance with California Education Codes.
