PROGRAM AND DESCRIPTION OF CLASSES

LAW AND MEDICINE
One Semester/Session - 3 Units
The course deals with the issues of liability and government regulations of physicians and the health care profession.

LAW AND PSYCHIATRY
One Semester/Session - 3 Units
Overview of the mental health profession, psychiatric nomenclature; criminal responsibility and competency to stand trial; traumatic neurosis, psych injuries; liability for improper treatment; civil commitments; capacity to make a will, etc.

LEGAL WRITING *
One Semester/Session - 2 Units
Instruction in methods of legal research in State and Federal law, and legal writing techniques.

PRODUCTS LIABILITY
One Semester/Session - 3 Units
Sources, development and limited to the law of product liability; theories of recovery; problems of evidence and proof; liability of the product manufacturer and the distribution chain to the injured user.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY *
One Semester/Session - 2 Units
A course dealing with the concepts of morality, ethics, etiquette and professional values and attitudes which are dictated by a lawyer's function in society.

REAL PROPERTY *
Two Semester/Sessions - 7 Units
The law relating to the various types of real property interest including freehold, non-freehold estates and future interests, landlord-tenant relationships; conveyancing, and the use of the land.

REMEDIES *
Two Semesters/Sessions - 6 Units
The law relating to equitable remedies; including injunction and specific performance and the defenses thereto; the protection against certain types of tort liability including waste, nuisance, unfair competition, the law of rescission and reformation.

TORTS *
Two Semester/Sessions - 7 Units
The law relating to civil liability for intentional wrongs to person and property, negligence, strict liability, misrepresentation, defamation and other civil wrongs.

TRUSTS *
One Semester/Session - 3 Units
The law relating to the creation of the trust relationship, charitable trusts, resulting and constructive trusts, the powers and duties of the trustee, the alteration and termination of the trust, remedies of the beneficiary.

UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE
One Semester/Session - 3 Units 
A course dealing with the interpretation and application of the uniform Commercial Code with emphasis on the sale of goods.

WILLS *
One Semester/Session - 3 Units
The law relating to intestate succession, testamentary capacity and intent, the formalities of execution, alteration and revocation and the problems of distribution.

The above courses are not meant as an all exclusive list. Courses and content may be added to the curriculum or taken from it at the discretion of the administration. Each unit represents 15 hours of classroom instruction.
