CAMPUS LIFE
LIVING ACCOMODATIONS

The American College of Law, in line with the policy of most graduate institutions, expects its students to take personal responsibility for their own living arrangements. A wide variety of homes and apartments are available in the orange county area in many price ranges so students should not have a problem finding housing that can meet their needs and budget.

THE STUDENT LETTER

"The Sidebar" is a newsletter sponsored by the Student Bar Association of American College of Law. Staff positions are open to all interested students just by contacting the American College of Law's SBA. It publishes articles of timely interest on law matters and the legal community.

STUDENT STUDY FACILITIES

The Administration at American College of Law encourages the utilization of available campus facilities to students every day of the week that the college is opened for study and study groups. These include any classrooms not in use and any common areas that the staff designates.

ACADEMIC ADVISING

Advising services are provided by the Deans, and the designated academic administrators. Periodic advising may be needed for programming academic advice, leaves of absences, payment plans, and other situations which may effect the student's relationship with the college.

PLACEMENT

The college provides placement service on an informal basis. A listing of current employment opportunities is maintained on the designated bulletin boards and students are encouraged to obtain interviews. Local attorneys and alumni help in providing and finding work opportunities for students. This service is also available to American College of Law graduates. While the college will provide placement assistance, no guarantee of employment can be made.

STUDENT BAR ASSOCIATION

Each member of the student body is a member of the Student Bar Association, with its officers elected by their respective classmates. The Student Bar Association serves the study body by sponsoring social and educational functions during the year and by representing the students in matters involving the college administration. It also established and maintains relations with local bar associations in order to foster extracurricular activities which help the individual student to develop socially and professionally in the community.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

Graduates of American College of Law are automatically members of the American College of Law's Alumni Association. The purpose of the Alumni Association is to support the school, to promote social activities, to further the objectives of the college, and to introduce new graduates to the legal community.

NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND STUDENT ASSOCIATIONS

Several national and local organizations and student associations have local representatives on campus. Students are encouraged to join these groups in order to establish valuable contacts in the legal community.

The groups most active are the special interest associations for Asian American, Black, and Hispanic law students. Students also have opportunities to join the different bar associations as a student member which can be of particular interest to the students for the many opportunities that are available to cement ties to the legal community.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Students are expected to read an comply with all the posted notices on the bulletin boards located around the college.
