| ADMISSION
TO THE PRACTICE OF LAW IN A STATE OTHER THAN CALIFORNIA
|
|
Most states require graduation from a law school approved by the
American Bar Association or approved or accredited by the State
Supreme Court as a prerequisite to taking the bar examination in
that state. Study at, or graduation from, this law school is not
accepted as qualifying the student for admission is some states.
Therefore, if you intend to seek admission in a state other than
California, you should consult the admitting authority in that state
to find out if study at this college will be accepted.

| FIRST
YEAR LAW STUDENTS EXAMINATION |
|
Students attending American College of Law are required to take
the First Year Law Students Examination upon the completion of at
least 270 hours (18 units) of law study within the calendar year.
This examination is given twice each year by the Committee of Bar
Examiners of the State of California. Students must pass this examination
to receive credit for the first year of law study. The rules for
admissions to practice further require that three years of additional
law study must lapse after a student has taken and passed the First
Year Law Students Examination.
No student may take either the First Year Law
Students Examination or the General Bar Examinations unless certified
by the college as having completed the requisite number of hours
of study, is in good academic standing and has no balance owing
to the college on their financial obligations. |

but failed to enroll, or withdrew before earning units, are required
to repeat the normal admissions procedure.
